"Toc toc" is a festive song released in 2015 by the French entertainer Patrick Sébastien. "Toc toc" is the French sound of knocking, like "knock knock", and the chorus asks who is at the door. In autumn 2026 the song turned into a worldwide dance challenge on TikTok and Instagram, as news coverage of the trend reported in October. The trend is tied to "Jean Phil", a blond-bobbed man in a brown suit who dances it with a deadpan face. The account had almost no history before September 2026 and is widely believed to be AI-made, so his look, the bowl wig and the vintage suit, became the costume of the dance. Groups of friends film themselves entering one by one through a door, and one college dorm version passed 28 million views in October. The clip on this page is a solo version by @gastondelorme (over 2 million views), in the Jean Phil wig and a vintage jacket. On AI Dance, the template copies those moves onto your own photo: your face, clothes and background stay, and you hop, knock and kick like the original. ### The moves A deadpan, bouncy routine: the dancer walks in, hops on one foot with the other knee up, raises a fist and knocks on an invisible door to the "toc toc" of the song, then kicks one leg out to the side and travels across the room with springy, swinging steps, arms loose and face completely serious. ## How to make the Toc Toc video 1. **Add your photo.** Upload one clear photo of you or a friend, facing the camera, as much of the body in the frame as you can. 2. **Tap Make my video.** The Toc Toc dance costs 1 credit. The AI copies the moves onto your photo while you wait, about a few minutes. 3. **Download and post.** You get a 8 second 9:16 MP4. The AI animates the biggest person in the frame. Avoid: - Group photos, or a second person cut off at the edge - Faces turned away, covered or in deep shadow - Blurry or very dark photos - Heavy filters, stickers or text on the photo ## Post it on TikTok, Reels or Shorts - Your video comes without music.
